From a young age, my father took me to rallycross races, and I have always enjoyed them. I remember a special evening rallycross event where Martin Schanche took the lead in his RS200 ahead of a number of Metro 6R4s and Audi Quattros. I have never forgotten the red turbos and brake discs!

As a schoolboy, I started my own small business selling brochures I got from local car dealers, which later developed into model cars, pedal cars, Honda Monkeys, and DAXs. Then, at thirteen, I bought my first car… I was lucky that my parents let me do this. My mother was already teaching me to drive when I was eight. My father only let me start the engine, but when he was gone, my mother would get an old car from the parking garage and teach me how to operate the clutch and shift gears.
