Create a specialist in classic Italian cuisineOwner René Goudberg has been crazy about cars since childhood. Particularly Italian cars (Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat...) from the sixties and seventies. As you grow up and get your driver's license, that is when it begins: one beautiful classic car after another is purchased (usually Alfas). You get older and wiser, and start your own butcher business at a young age. However, the passion for Italian cars is still present, and with a successful butcher business, you can build a modest collection of classics. That collection grows and grows, until you have so many that you have to consider selling a few cars. But which ones?

From hobby to business

Eventually, a showroom is rented, and thus the small-scale company becomes “Montagna d'Orocame into existence. Montagna d'Oro is the Italian translation of the surname “Goudberg”. Meanwhile, the number of cars continues to grow, and sales are increasing as well. The hobby is becoming more and more enjoyable, but also increasingly busy. Eventually, in February 2005, René decided to sell the butcher shop to his two brothers-in-law to give Montagna d'Oro substance. Now, several years later, his dream of having a new premises built of his own has come true.

In Oosterwolde, a new two-story building was constructed in 2013 with a total surface area of ​​1200 m², featuring a very beautiful Italian-style showroom where over 35 classic cars are displayed, and a fully equipped shop showcasing numerous car books, brochures, miniatures, oils & additives, and polishing, cleaning, and maintenance products.

This is supported by a sophisticated program, in which very high quality, originality, and the history of the cars offered are a must. To be able to continue offering such high quality, it is necessary, in addition to a very extensive network, to travel to beautiful Italy regularly for yet another search.

The target group is the serious enthusiast, the collector, the man or woman who has a soft spot for classic Italian automobiles. Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and Fiat. That could be the design, the speed, the finesse, or simply nostalgia. For this group, Montagna d'Oro has a collection averaging 25 cars dating back to 1960. The novice enthusiast can also come to us; for them, there is a selection of a few younger cars ranging from 15 to 10 years old.
