We already showed the new earlier in 2020 Fiat 126 concept car A real gem from MA-DE studio. In our opinion, a very successful design of a classic in a modern, electric guise.
But it gets even better, because Totem Automobili from Italy—how could it be otherwise—has taken on the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Junior. Six thousand man-hours later, we have a stunning Italian car that could go straight into our showroom. And yes, it is now available to order. Hopefully, you have fattened up your piggy bank, because the starting price is around €539.000! But just look at that interior alone—bellissimo!
Interior of electric Alfa Romeo by Totem
Totem Automobili itself says the following about its creation: “This jewel is the result of the collaboration of a passionate team dedicated to perfection, attention to detail, and technological performance to bring the iconic car to an unprecedented level, offering classic car enthusiasts the best Italian vintage car for the future.”
The GT Electric is based on the Alfa Romeo GT Junior, one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, but the exterior of the GT Electric is inspired by the design of a few Giulia models from recent years. That combination has turned out particularly well.

Power source and performance
According to Totem, a 50,4 kWh battery pack offers a range of 320 kilometers at “standard speeds.” The prototype has a built-in 6,6 kW charger, but production cars will have a more powerful fast-charging system, the company confirms. Totem says the battery pack weighs just under 350 kilograms, but the carbon fiber body will compensate for some of that weight. Only 10 percent of the original chassis has been retained; the rest has been replaced with aluminum and carbon fiber to support more than 510 hp and 940 Nm of power. This helps the GT Electric accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,4 seconds.
Totem has made a number of subtle changes: the GT Electric has four headlights instead of the original two, the C-pillar has been redesigned, and the Alfa grille emblem lacks the slats of the original. Totem has also redesigned the underside of the car to improve aerodynamics, creating a flat floor with air diffusers at the rear to generate more downforce.

The interior has been significantly updated, as you would expect, with a digital dashboard display and Bluetooth infotainment system. But it also exudes quality and craftsmanship through the use of leather for the upholstery and the subtly applied details.
The electric models would look a lot better if more designers like this got involved with brands' electric lineups. Perhaps then there could be a ban on the Toyota Prius and the Nissan Leaf, which would certainly improve the streetscape. For now, a deep electric bow to Totem Cars.
And if you still can't get used to an electric one, Totem also has a Super GT alternative. You'll have to save up a bit more, though.
