Everyone who ever watches a movie knows the Back To The Future trilogy, and with that the Delorean Time Machine. Rumors had been circulating for quite some time that a fourth installment was going to be made, a sentiment reinforced by the musical being performed. However, nothing could be further from the truth. There will be no fourth part, and we understand the reason: there is simply nothing left to tell about Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Not that this needs to be a very weighty argument in Hollywood, as plenty of trash is produced. But the creators of the trilogy do have a lot to say and simply don't think it's a good idea.
Moreover, one might wonder whether Back To The Future would still do well in these times without a substantial upgrade that fits the current zeitgeist. After all, the first installment was about someone who really wanted his father and mother to get back together. That sounds more like a storyline for a classic Disney fairy tale. Back To The Future co-writer Bob Gale has previously said: “I am sure Universal would like it if we said to them, hey, let’s make another one. But we don’t think we could ever make a fourth installment that is a worthy successor to the first three, so we are leaving it alone.”
This American would certainly be happy with a fourth installment.
But suppose… suppose they did it after all. Would then the DeLorean be driven out of the garage again, or would it be an idea to go along with the artist's idea Khyzyl Saleem. It seemed like an idea to him to a DeTomaso Pantera to be used as a time machine. And we actually think it is quite a successful image. Who knows what the future holds…
