Triumph 1800

The Triumph 1800 was built between 1946 and 1949 and was also known as the Roadster. The 65 hp engine and gearbox came from the pre-war Standard 'Flying Fourteen'. The chassis was constructed from tubular steel and was an extended version of the Roadster chassis. The cars looked quite luxurious, with leather seats and a beautiful wooden dashboard. A total of 4000 1800s were produced.

Triumph Roadster 1800 and 2000

The Roadster underwent a modification in 1948 for the 1949 models, in which the car received a 2088 cc Vanguard engine and the transmission and rear axle were upgraded. During test drives with this modified roadster, the top speed reached 124 km/h and the 0 to 100 sprint took 27,9 seconds.

The Roadster was never produced in large numbers and was built almost entirely by hand. Around two and a half thousand units of the 1800 version were built, and—very fittingly—around 2000 units of the 2000 version. Today, examples are highly sought after by collectors. The model was succeeded by the TR2.
